Where Magical is the better choice
- It can pull data from one page and type it into another (e.g. from a CRM into a form). Keyquill doesn't do that.
- It includes AI writing features if you want them.
- If your team already shares snippets in Magical and it works for you, there's no need to move.

Switching takes a minute
- Copy your Magical templates out (if you can export them; otherwise copy the text of your most-used ones).
- Install Keyquill. The dashboard opens with a few starter snippets.
- Dashboard → Settings → Import: paste a CSV or JSON, or add snippets one by one. Placeholders from other expanders are converted.
- Type your shortcut (e.g.
;thx) in any text box. Keyquill backs up your snippets every day automatically.
Questions
- Is Keyquill free?
- Yes for unlimited snippets, folders, dates, clipboard, the search palette, import/export and backups. Pro adds fill-in forms, page variables and nested snippets.
- Do my snippets get uploaded?
- No. They're stored in your browser. The only network call is an anonymous licence check for Pro.
- Which sites does it work on?
- Gmail, Outlook on the web, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Web, help desks, CRMs and most rich editors. Google Docs isn't supported yet.
