Keyquill

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Keyquill is a browser extension that expands short shortcuts into longer text you've saved ("snippets"). It is built to collect as little as possible. This policy covers the extension and this website. Keyquill is operated by Akash Randive, trading as DecisionsCalc; contact support@decisionscalc.com.

What stays on your computer

Your snippets, folders, settings, backups and usage counts are saved in your browser's local extension storage. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else. Removing the extension deletes them, so export a copy if you want to keep them.

To notice a shortcut, Keyquill looks at the last few characters before your cursor in the text box you are typing in. That check happens in your browser, is not stored and is never sent anywhere. Keyquill never reads password fields or payment-card fields.

If you use a snippet with {clipboard} and allow clipboard access, Keyquill reads your clipboard at that moment to insert it, and nothing else. You can remove that permission in Keyquill's settings.

What Keyquill does not do

Payments (Keyquill Pro)

Pro purchases and free trials are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and the merchant of record. When you buy, you give your payment details to Paddle, not to Keyquill; Paddle's privacy policy applies to them. Paddle tells us your email address, country and subscription status so we can issue your Pro license. To check whether Pro is unlocked, the extension sends our license server (hosted on Cloudflare) a random install ID that it creates on your computer, plus your license key if you enter one; nothing else is sent. The install ID identifies the copy of the extension, not you, and is passed to checkout when you click Upgrade so your purchase unlocks that copy. We use your email address only for your purchase and support, never for marketing without your consent.

This website

This site has no analytics or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. The home page and checkout page load Paddle's checkout script so Paddle can take payments and, if a renewal payment fails, let you update your card.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
